The normalization of calling your political opponents agents of the Russian government is now complete.  A large segment of Democratic primary voters fully believe, with almost no evidence, that Trump and his inner circle take orders from the Kremlin.  That part was easy.  They want to believe the worst about Trump.  But now it’s time to move on to Phase Two.  With the midterm behind us, the 2020 presidential election is on the horizon.  The Democratic party and their media lapdogs are going to have to convince their followers that the populist left (Bernie Sanders and his ilk)  is also controlled by the Kremlin.  This process has already begun and look for it to ramp up in 2019.

putin-and-his-puppets

The Democrats cannot defeat Bernie on the battlefield of ideas, because all of his policy ideas are extremely popular, and it could get to a point where his popularity is so obvious to everyone that it becomes impossible for the Democrats to rig their primary, (See The Evidence for Election Fraud in the 2016 Democratic Primary) so all they have in their toolkit are psyops.

The dynamic is similar in the UK where the only criticisms of Jeremy Corbyn that the Tories can throw is that he’s a sexist anti-Semite.  Oh, and also that he works for Putin.

In a recent article, the NYT reveled that the ‘troll farm’ know as the Internet Research Agency promoted Bernie on social media but conveniently ‘forgot’ to mention that it also extensively promoted Hillary. (One of its accounts retweeted #Resistance darling and MSNBC host Joy Ried hundreds of times.)  This conspiracy theory was echoed by the Washington Post and other outlets.  The NYT article also claimed that the IRA promoted both the Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter movements, but they neglected to explain how this helped Trump get elected.  Details like that are not important.  What’s important is that people understand that Russian propagandists have the attention of all America voting blocks.  The NYT mostly sites a study done by a shadowy organization called New Knowledge which is run by a former NSA agent and a former State Department employee.  Clearly the IRA is just one of hundreds of clickbait farms that spam people with advertising.  A bit more elaborate than its competitors, yes, but no one can seriously make a solid case that they pushed any individual political agenda.

In August, Facebook purged more than 600 Iranian and Russian accounts.  This was could conditioning for October when Facebook purged more than 500 more accounts and pages, this time for “coordinated inauthentic behavior.” Facebook has refused to answer many thousands of requests to explain what ‘coordinated inauthentic behavior’ means.  These were primarily activist pages and independent media pages, namely police accountability pages, marijuana legalization pages, independent political analysis, alternative health, anti-war, basically anything that could possibly be viewed as a threat to the corporate state.  Many of them had millions of followers.  The most popular ones were The Free Thought Project, The Anti-Media, Police the Police, Cop Block, Filming Cops, Right-Wing News, and Nation in Distress.   A couple months before the purge started, Facebook formed an alliance with The Atlantic Council, a well-known neocon think tank with board members like Henry Kissinger.

jill stein

Claims that Jill Stein is a Russian agent started almost immediately after the 2016 election.  I love Jill Stein.  Believe it or not, I actually like her because I agree with her policies not because I saw a meme of Jesus arm-wresting Satan.

Any information that paints establishment Democrats in a bad light is going to be labeled ‘Russian propaganda.’ Democrats are already working hard to plant seeds that Bernie is at the center of a disinformation campaign.  One of the most startling examples of this came from a recent NBC article called Inside Bernie-world’s War on Beto O’Rourke.  It starts off: “Forces loyal to Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders are waging an increasingly public war against Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke.” This is mostly in response to a Guardian article called “Beto O’Rourke frequently voted for Republican legislation, analysis reveals.” In this article, writer David Sirota calmly points out the fact the Beto frequently voted for Republican legislation.  So correctly and honestly pointing out someone’s voting record is now considered an ‘attack.’  But for the sake of this argument, I’m more interested in the terms ‘Bernie-world’ and ‘forces loyal to Bernie Sanders.’ The establishment is beginning to normalize the idea that Bernie has his own team of political commentators and newspaper reporters.  Now it’s just one more baby step to connect this ‘team’ to Russia.

In July, Vanity Fair published an article called “WHAT’S A BERNIE SANDERS STRATEGIST DOING IN THE MANAFORT FILES?”  Slowly planting seeds.  Paul Manafort was of course indicted by the ‘Russia Probe’ for crimes having nothing to do with Russia.  He and his PR firm ‘Davis Manafort Inc’ also worked on the presidential campaign of #Resistance anti-Russia hawk and late Senator John McCain.  The firm has strong ties going back decades with anti-Putin Russian and Ukrainian oligarchs.  But, hey, they have Russian names, so close enough.

The Democrats will employ an arsenal of tactics to discredit Bernie, including claiming that it is racist and/ or sexist to support a white man, repeating debunked claims that African Americans don’t support him, claiming that he’s too radical to win the general election, or that he’s too old.  Here is a good video from Kyle Kulinski that breaks down the Democrat’s 2020 primary strategy.

But McCarthyism will without a doubt be a big part of their strategy.  They are already preparing us for it.  Hillary’s campaign manager Robby Mook recently tweeted: “Beware: Russian operatives will try to divide Democrats again in the 2020 primary, making activists unwitting accomplices.  2020 resolution: think before you like or share.  It might be foreign propaganda, not news.”  I’m fascinated by the idea that someone could come across information that they like and want to share, but that they shouldn’t because it’s ‘foreign propaganda.’ He didn’t even imply that the information may be false.  This leads to the philosophical question of what even is ‘propaganda?’  Can accurate information be propaganda?  Can news from an allied country be propaganda?

This is so pathetic.  This is a system in decline.  Never before in human history has information been so readily available and people around the world been so connected.  And the powers that be a freaking out.  So this is their last ditch effort to control the narrative: creating another Red Scare.  I’m interested to see how regular Democratic voters will respond when the establishment takes this new turn.  I know better than to be optimistic, but I did see some liberals begin to take a step back when Jill Stein was smeared as a Russian agent.  Anyways, be ready for it.  It’s coming.  Understand what you’re looking at when you see it.
